US visum requirements aren’t getting any easier, are they? Yet there is ESTA, which is the VWM. VWM stands for visa waiver program, and it’s actually quite accommodating. It surprised me when I learned about it, and I thought it was quite neat to be honest. The VWP allows for people to fill out an online application in order to get approval for entry into the US without a visa.
ESTA is the acronym that represents the VWP. It makes applying for entry into the US easy, and it’s actually an automated process. Your part isn’t automated, but it’s easy enough because you’re filling out an online form. You do have to make sure that you are traveling from a country that is approved for the VWP though.
If your country isn’t shown on the list when you visit the ESTA website, then you know you’re not eligible for the VWP. That’s why you need to look at the list first, and you also need to be sure that you’re set to only be in the US for less than a three month period. If that’s the case, then you are able to go ahead and apply.
You’re going to find out whether or not you’re approved in a short amount of time. It would be such a relief if you were able to get approved with ESTA and not have to look at your alternatives. It’s not like a trip lasting for less than 3 months should require a visa, but what if your country isn’t even on the list?
Be glad if your country is on the list because it helps you get your ESTA without having to explore alternative solutions. When you do travel to the US, be sure to check and make sure that your time for travel resets to 0 so that your next trip can be just shy of 3 months if necessary. In other words, you want to be sure that the trips aren’t combining.
When people make frequent trips, it is sometimes reported that the time counter doesn’t reset. It shouldn’t be a problem for you, but it’s just good for you to know. Right now, you’re just wanting to get approved with ESTA, and you have to fill out the online form to find out. It’s great that you can forget having to worry about the US visum requirements, at least for now.
